Qualifications & Experience

Attorney Daniel Rice provides personalized and practical solutions for clients in the areas of estate planning and probate and trust administration. He has practiced law since 2008 and enjoys helping individuals and families throughout Oregon and Washington achieve peace of mind in the areas that matter most to them. He strives to serve his clients with clear communication, active listening, responsiveness, humility and respect.

Daniel uses his combination of legal experience and specialized education to help clients design effective, customized estate plans and navigate the process of administering a loved one’s estate. He has earned an advanced law degree in taxation and has extensive knowledge about planning for federal and state estate taxes. One of the favorite parts of Daniel’s job is getting to meet people from all different walks of life and collaborating with them on achieving their own, unique planning goals.

As a lawyer, Daniel has seen first-hand the impact of litigation and costly disputes on clients. Early in his legal career, he focused on litigation but made the decision to devote his full-time efforts to estate planning and administering estates. Daniel still falls back on his experience in litigation to draft estate plans and other documents that keep his clients out of court while maximizing their chances of success if litigation does occur.

Daniel graduated magna cum laude from Willamette University College of Law and cum laude from Northern Arizona University with a degree in journalism. Most recently, he earned an LL.M in taxation from Villanova University School of Law. Daniel loves writing and has authored hundreds of published articles on legal and non-legal topics for newspapers and legal industry publications.

When not in the office, Daniel enjoys spending time with his family, reading fiction, traveling, exploring the outdoors by foot, bike, and boat, and fitness. He has recently embraced the joy and agony of golf.
