Qualifications & Experience

“Estate planning and probate complement my passion for helping others. I care deeply for my clients and use my expertise to implement their unique estate planning goals or guide them through the probate process.”

Estate planning and probate attorney Julia Rice provides highly personalized and expert legal counsel on wills, trusts, and probates. Julia also specializes in advanced tax planning strategies. With her caring approach, Julia settles estates of all sizes throughout Oregon. Her clients appreciate her attention to detail, patience, and genuine compassion. Julia has received advanced education in areas that matter to her clients.

Julia’s extensive training in the fields of law, taxation, and psychology enables her to provide clients with compassionate high-quality legal representation. She previously worked as a family therapist, which helps her better listen to clients to understand their goals and legal needs. Julia became licensed to practice law in the state of Oregon in 2007. Prior to opening her own firm, she worked at larger firms in Oregon. However, Julia quickly became disenchanted by the emphasis on profits versus clients’ needs. She knew there was a better way to practice law, and she opened her own boutique firm in 2010. Julia understands that preparing an estate plan or going through a probate can be an emotional and potentially frustrating experience, so she works closely with clients to help them feel at ease and ensure all legal requirements are met.

In Julia’s free time, she enjoys boating and hiking throughout the Pacific NW with her two teenage daughters, husband, and dog, Finley. She also has two rescue orange Tabbies, Bella and Cooper. Julia loves traveling domestically and internationally and hearing stories about clients’ travel adventures.
